Microcement durability cannot be explained by one number. It depends on the base, preparation, reinforcement where needed, applied coats, protective finish, daily use and care.
A correctly selected and applied microcement system can be hard-wearing, but its lifespan depends on the project and daily use. SENSE does not promise one number of years without its own verified data.
Performance begins beneath the finish. A sound, stable and properly prepared base gives the system a reliable foundation. Moisture, dirt, weak layers and active movement can reduce adhesion or cause problems later. Inspection and preparation are not extra work around the decorative finish. They are an important part of the completed surface.
Wear is not the same as impact. Foot traffic and cleaning cause gradual wear. A dropped sharp object causes a strong impact in one spot. A chair leg with trapped sand creates repeated scratching. These are different types of damage. Choose the texture and protection for the actual room. If the space needs specialised chemical, impact or industrial performance, another flooring material may be more suitable.
Water performance depends on the full system. In wet areas, durability depends on waterproofing, drainage, corners, joints and maintenance as well as the visible finish. A strong topcoat cannot solve water entering from behind or below. Bathrooms, areas beside pools and dry rooms have different levels of water exposure, even when they share the same visual style.
Maintenance preserves the designed finish. Grit control, gentle cleaning, furniture protection and prompt attention to damage help protect the surface. The protective coat may require review or renewal according to traffic and the installed system. To judge durability, ask what the base is, who uses the space, what may reach the surface, how it will be cleaned and what maintenance is realistic. These answers are more useful than a general lifespan claim.
